Build economic context

Make goods, routes and pressure useful for the adventure.

Use the profile as authored worldbuilding material for the place your players encounter.

Start with the place’s role

Choose settlement, regional, realm or trade-route scale. Set environment and prosperity, then review the profile rather than generate a complete place or government.

Read production and exchange together

Review local resources and industries alongside imports, exports, partners and route references. Use their qualitative relationships to develop your setting.

Bring pressure into the story

Consider scarcity, tariff friction, seasonal change, bounded shocks and actor interests. Turn the opportunities and hooks you accept into decisions at your table.

Keep calculations with your own rules

The profile does not calculate unit prices, quantities, profit, taxes, travel timing or autonomous market change. Apply exact costs and consequences yourself.

Prepare a place shaped by exchange

Connect the setting to what people need and produce.

Review resources, trade access and visible pressure as preparation material.

This artwork illustrates a fantasy economy, not an application screen or generated map.

From a brief to a setting reference

Frame. Generate. Review. Keep.

Quick and Deep share the complete dossier structure, with additional context visible in Deep.

01 · Set scale and conditions

Quick exposes location scale, environment and prosperity. The seed is available in either mode, and previously selected Deep values remain in use.

02 · Add detailed reference

Deep exposes resources, population, access, stability, war, season, industry, magic, labour, tariffs, scarcity and scenario. Specialist presets adjust selected controls.

03 · Review the authored profile

Read the goods, industries, trade references, labour and pressures. The audit uses fixed declarations, so check the relationships against the fiction you intend.

04 · Refine and save deliberately

Use scoped rerolls or JSON editing, review the player brief and save manually through your DCC account session. Keep the accepted result as your reference.

What the tool provides

A starting point for production, exchange and pressure.

Eight capabilities support economic preparation, selective refinement, account records and reviewed sharing.

Quick and Deep economic briefs

Quick exposes scale, environment and prosperity. Deep adds resources, population, access, stability, war, season, industry, magic, labour, tariffs, scarcity and scenario. Both produce the full dossier.

Four worldbuilding scales

Prepare a settlement, regional, realm or trade-route profile. Use authored resource and exchange material as a reference for your setting, rather than a complete place or government.

Resources, industries and production

Review local resources, lead and supporting industries, production strengths and qualitative surplus. Geography supplies goods while controls guide labels and preparation notes.

Imports, exports and trade references

Read import needs, export advantages, named partners, route notes and structured supply-flow data. The flow data is a text record rather than a drawn network map.

Labour, policy and economic pressures

Consider role demand, merchant classes, tariffs, scarcity, seasonal shifts, bounded shocks, economic actors, opportunities and adventure hooks. No exact prices or quantities are calculated.

Five scoped refinement groups

Reroll production, trade, labour, policy or pressures. Lock a group against its own reroll and review retained sections and the player brief after each revision.

Editing, comparison and account records

Edit JSON, undo or redo recent result changes, compare six summary fields and save manually. Search saved profiles, create variants and reopen prior result snapshots.

Separate player market brief

Switch between the full DM dossier and a brief of known goods, routes and visible pressure. Review the selected view before copying, downloading JSON or printing.

Choose a situation to explore

Prepare the conditions behind a useful setting problem.

The profile uses finite authored goods and narrative templates. Qualitative labels do not simulate quantities, population growth or profitability.

Settlement, region, realm or route

Choose the scale label and reference context. Each produces the same bounded network structure, with resources, sectors, goods, partners and routes.

Boom, decline or shortage

Prepare an external demand surge, declining lead sector or critical supply problem. Adapt the authored shock and scarcity guidance without expecting numerical forecasts.

Blockade, recovery or discovery

Use specialist presets to prepare related controls for route closure, post-war recovery or a resource discovery. Review the snapshot’s retained conditions together.

Market shock or seasonal trade

Consider a buyer default or seasonal trade pressure. Seasonal and scenario notes support adventure preparation without automatically advancing future economic state.

Keep the economic reference you accept

Bring the setting’s trade pressures into play.

Use the dossier for DM preparation and review the separate player brief before sharing.

This illustration shows fantasy worldbuilding material, not exported application output.

Refine one economic area

Keep useful material and review the combined record.

Five groups cover production, trade, labour, policy and pressures alongside structured editing.

Lock a group against its own reroll

A group lock prevents that group’s scoped reroll. Full generation replaces the profile regardless of locks, and several authored sections may remain unchanged with the same controls.

Check retained and replaced fields

Scoped rerolls retain identity, overview and parameters. Changed controls can leave retained goods, routes or labels needing reconciliation with the new fields.

Maintain the separate player brief

Trade and production rerolls leave the brief unchanged. Pressures rerolls rebuild it from current controls, so check it against the retained trade material before sharing.

Edit, compare and reverse result changes

Edit JSON, undo or redo recent result changes, and compare six summary fields with a saved profile. Save checks structure and selected boundaries, not every narrative relationship.

Account reference and audience review

Save the economic profile you choose to use.

The existing DCC session connects manual saves to your VISINVOKE account.

Manual saves and earlier results

Save updates the account library and retains up to ten prior result snapshots for the same seed-based ID. There is no autosave or offline fallback.

Reopen or prepare a variant

Search by title, scale, prosperity, scarcity or notes. Open restores the result and saved generation locks, not the current form or seed. Prior results use current notes, and variants use current workspace notes.

Review player information deliberately

The generated brief lists known goods, route names and visible pressure, excluding private actor aims and hidden diversion methods. Edited and rerolled fields need audience review.

Share the selected view

Copy or download selected-view JSON. Finish editing, clear comparisons and check print preview for player sharing. No direct Combat PRO handoff or automatic merchant transaction is provided.

Quick answers

Goods, rerolls and account records in plain language.

Understand the authored material, audience boundaries and saving behaviour before opening the tool.

What changes between Quick, Deep and specialist presets?

Quick exposes location scale, environment and prosperity, with the seed available in either mode. Deep additionally exposes resource richness, population, trade access, political stability, war or blockade, season, major industries, magic, labour, tariffs, scarcity and scenario. Quick retains previously selected Deep values. Both modes use the same full dossier structure. Twelve specialist presets adjust named controls while retaining others, including settlement, regional, realm and trade-route choices and boom, decline, shortage, blockade, post-war recovery, discovery, market shock and seasonal trade. The authored network does not grow into a complete settlement or realm.

Does this calculate prices, stock, profit or a live economy?

No. It creates a qualitative worldbuilding snapshot from finite authored goods and narrative templates. Resources, production, imports, exports, labour, policy and shocks supply reference material, not numerical market calculations. Population and prosperity are qualitative labels rather than measured quantities or simulated growth. There are no unit prices, stock balances, tax ledgers, purchasing, worker hiring, travel schedules or continuous market ticks. The supply-flow graph is structured text data, not a rendered map. Agree exact costs and consequences yourself; separate merchant, travel and staffing tools have their own purposes and access.

What do locks, scoped rerolls and the seed preserve?

A lock prevents rerolling its own group; full generation replaces the profile regardless of locks. A scoped reroll retains the profile ID, overview, parameters and unrelated fields while replacing its group. Changed controls can therefore leave retained goods, routes or labels needing reconciliation. Trade and production rerolls do not refresh the separate player brief; pressures rerolls rebuild it from current controls, which may differ from retained trade material. Several authored sections can remain unchanged with the same controls. The seed works with an internal generation counter, so entering it alone does not replay an exact result.

Does the consistency audit guarantee coherence or player privacy?

The audit contains fixed declarations rather than a computed proof of coherence. Save validation checks required sections, schema, different import and export goods, at least two route rows and selected prohibited pricing or simulation terms. It does not prove route connectivity, geography fit, every narrative relationship or the accuracy of edited player fields. The generated player brief omits private actor aims and hidden diversion methods, but structured edits and scoped rerolls require you to review and maintain that brief yourself. Check it against the accepted DM dossier before sharing.

How do account saves, prior versions and comparison work?

Save manually writes the library through your existing DCC session. Reusing the seed-based profile ID updates the current record and retains up to ten prior result snapshots. Open and prior-version buttons restore the chosen result and its saved generation locks, using the current record’s notes; they do not restore the form, seed or internal counter. Search profiles and compare scale, prosperity, scarcity, import goods, export goods and black-market pressure. Duplicating creates a variant using current workspace notes. There is no autosave, offline fallback, import, delete, archive or dedicated rename control. Avoid conflicting whole-library saves from several windows.

What can I copy, export, print or send to other products?

Copy and Download structured JSON export the selected full DM dossier or player market brief, not the entire account library. Notes saved with library records are separate from those exports. Print uses the current rendered view; setup panels, an open editor or comparison can remain, so finish editing, clear comparisons and check print preview before sharing a player brief. There is no graphical map or PNG/SVG export. Economy & Trade Generator has no direct Combat PRO handoff, automatic merchant transaction, live market update or synchronisation with related products. Apply the setting consequences yourself.
